The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

I decided to cover someone's morning shift at work today and I have the afternoon shift as well.... so 8am-5pm work day! Mostly dealing with stupid parents who don't read what we give them. Ah well, I basically just play around on my computer all day XD

I ended up dropping my physics 2 class. I'll take it next semester instead. Evil, evil class...

Next week I'm getting my hair cut really really short. Like boy-cut short. It'll be interesting XD

David is getting a larger cage because he's so dang huge. I swear he must be some half breed hamster or have ridiculous genes. Dwarf hamsters should not get that large!

I'll hopefully knock out my remaining commissions and stuff today, and then get back to working on Ekos. It's coming along so nicely! Having a domain makes things so much more exciting! EKOSMASKS.COM HELLZ YA! If anyone is looking for unlimited hosting, use Fat Cow. Inexpensive and their customer support is amazing (they reply back within a few hours).

Anyways, nothing much else going on... I'm just really really bored. But hey, at least I'm getting paid!
